Anatomy of a Trailer – ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’

Yesterday the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie trailer was released. In it we first see a glimpse of the Turtles, Shredder/Eric Sachs (played by William Fichtner), and April O’Neil (played by Megan Fox).

It starts out with Eric telling April how he and her father set out to make heroes, because they felt that is what the city needed. As he explains this to April there is a montage of crimes, destruction, the Shredder suit, and the Turtles. There is a little bit of action in the trailer with foot soldiers walking around with guns and a brief scene with a couple of the soldiers getting thrown against the wall and ceiling.

The best scene in the trailer is when the Turtles are sliding down a snowy mountain. As they speed down the mountain Donatello uses his bo staff to slingshot Raphael further down the mountain and crashing into the side of a Hummer. That is about all you see of Donnie and Raph in the trailer.

You see clear shots of Leonardo and Michelangelo on the rooftop of a city building with April there. Upon seeing Leo and Mikey, April faints.

I have to start off by saying the Turtles look a little weird at first but overall the look is not that bad. The trailer itself doesn’t really show a lot of the Turtles which is weird since it is for a movie called “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and it doesn’t make me want to run out and see it when it is released, though I most likely will.
