On April third “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” hit theatres in the US. Of course I hit the local cinema showing as soon as I could, and this review will be kept as spoiler free as I can make it.
The movie takes place after “The Avengers” and Captain America is still working for S.H.I.E.L.D. He is also working through a list of things people tell him to check out that happened while he was frozen.
The basic premise of the movie is that S.H.I.E.L.D. implodes as Captain America and Black Widow, along with Cap’s new friend Sam, take on the Winter Soldier.
The Winter Soldier is a Russian assassin who is looked at as a ghost story among the spy community because of the amount of time Winter Soldier reports have been talked about. But Natasha (Black Widow) tells Captain America that the Winter Soldier is no story because she has had dealings with him in the past.
This film is great. There is a lot of action and it is, I believe, what a comic book movie is all about. A compelling story being told and the fact that you know the impact from the movie is affecting the whole Marvel film franchise (this includes the “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television show).
If you have not seen this yet you should go out to watch it as soon as you can you will not be disappointed.
