On September 22 the first episode of the new ABC show “Forever” will air, followed by the second episode the next day in its regular time slot on Tuesdays at 10pm. A few weeks ago, at the end of August (the 26th to be exact) the first episode was released online through ABC‘s home on the web.
The show stars Ioan Gruffudd, Alana de la Garza, Joel David Moorem and Judd Hirsch. Ioan plays Dr. Henry Morgan a Medical Examiner in New York City. He also has a secret, he is over 200 years old because he cannot die. Every time he is “killed” he awakens in a nearby body of water.
Joel David Moorem, whom people may recognize from the television show “Bones”, is Henry’s assistant at the medical examiners office.
Judd Hirsch plays Abe a longtime friend of Henry’s. He also knows the doctor’s secret about not being able to die. It is revealed Abe was an infant when he met Henry during World War 2.
Alana de la Garza plays Jo Martinez, a detective who meets Henry during a case. He deduces she drinks because her husband had died recently. She suspects, briefly, that Henry is the one behind the villainous scheme in the first episode. But realizes quickly he is innocent even though she suspects he is hiding something.
The show is good and worth at least checking out either on the website now or on the television when it airs. During the show we see a couple flashbacks of Henry’s past and there are a couple tidbits of info I have not divulged here. So check it out and let us know what you thought of the show.
