Earlier today Harold Ramis died from autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare ailment involving the swelling of blood vessels. This disease was caused by an infection he had in 2010, over the years Ramis had to relearn to walk because of it.
However Harold Ramis will be known for his contributions in the field of entertainment. A man best known for his portrayal of Egon Spengler in the movie “Ghostbusters” and its sequel, he has also given us other great characters such as Russell Zizkey from “Stripes.”
Along with his acting Ramis also wrote and directed many films that are beloved by the world. “National Lampoon’s Animal House” starring John Belushi was written, in part, by him. As was “Caddyshack”, “Stripes”, both Ghostbusters movies, and “Analyze This” to name just a few.
